Our Commitment to You
Top Tier is an application designed to help users create and share their personal videogame rankings. The platform offers features to rank games, discover what your friends are playing, and view global community rankings. The account, profile, activity and subscription data described below is used to provide these features.
1. Where This Policy Applies
This privacy policy covers the websites and applications of Top Tier.
2. Information We Collect
When creating an account, users provide:
- Email address
- Username
- Profile picture (optional)
During use of the application, the following information is recorded:
- Game rankings and their positions
- Game preferences and associated data (platform, genre, year)
- Profile settings (public/private)
- Account identifier, saved filters, game statuses and reviews provided by the user
- Follower and following relationships; the app does not access the device's address book
- Social media links or handles the user adds to their profile (optional)
- Subscription status and payment provider customer and subscription identifiers, where applicable
- Search queries sent to the server and technical request, connection and error logs needed to operate and protect the service
Users may grant access to the camera or photo library to add content. Users acknowledge that they accept the storage and display of sensitive information to other users when they voluntarily provide it.
Subscriptions are managed through Stripe or Lemon Squeezy, depending on the provider used to purchase them. Card details are entered in the external payment service; Top Tier does not store card numbers or bank details. Top Tier receives the subscription information needed to enable and manage Premium access.
3. Cookies and Similar Data Collection Technologies
Top Tier uses local storage and session mechanisms to maintain account access and preferences. The app does not integrate advertising or cross-app tracking for advertising purposes. Hosting services generate technical logs to handle requests, diagnose errors and maintain security; these logs may include connection data and queries sent to the server. External payment provider pages are also governed by their own policies.

The primary use is service provision and user safety. Specifically:
- Account administration and service provision
- Account creation and management
- Transaction completion
- Subscription communications
- Display of user rankings
- Personalized ranking features
- Email communication
- Service improvement and development
5. How We Share Information
The primary method of sharing involves publishing completed rankings and results with other users, creating motivational community environments.
Information is shared with service providers who assist in operations, including Supabase for cloud data hosting.
With Other Users
Users share ranking information with other users of the application. Care should be taken with attached photographs, ensuring that shared content represents material users are comfortable with others accessing, as neither users nor Top Tier can control the subsequent use of shared information.
With Service Providers and Partners
Third parties assist with operations and service improvement. All third parties must agree to strict confidentiality obligations.
Top Tier's service providers include:
- Supabase (information storage and authentication)
- Stripe and Lemon Squeezy (subscription management, depending on the provider used)
- IGDB / Twitch (videogame data)
- Apple Store (application publishing)
- Google Play (application publishing)
For Corporate Transactions
Information may be transferred if Top Tier is involved in mergers, sales, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, reorganizations, dissolutions, bankruptcies, or other changes of ownership or control.
When Required by Law
Information may be disclosed if reasonably necessary: (i) for legal compliance; (ii) for the prevention or detection of crimes; or (iii) for the protection of the safety of any person.
For the Enforcement of Legal Rights
Information may also be shared when disclosure reduces liability in actual or threatened litigation, to protect the legal rights of Top Tier, users, business partners, or other stakeholders, for the enforcement of agreements, and to investigate, prevent, or address illegal activities, suspected fraud, or other violations.
